Our Puppy Raising Philosophy

We breed show dogs but our dogs are pets first and foremost. Ours or yours. That's why we stay laser focused on three things that make our dogs perfect pets. Health, temperament, and breed type.

What does this mean?
Every dog we have is tested according to either the Havanese Club of America or Golden Retriever Club of America's recommended health testing and then some. â€‹Every dog we breed is the quintessential example of how their breed should behave. Our dogs must be naturally outgoing, friendly, confident, and adore people and other animals before we consider adding them to our program. Finally, breed type. Its a term not heard often outside of "the dog world" but it means that our Havanese should look like Havanese, and our Goldens should look like Goldens. They should be easily identifiable as a well bred version of what they are.

It Matters How You Raise Them

It all starts with good genes. We give our puppies the very best head start by breeding parents who are genetically the best examples of health, temperament, type, and structure in their breed. But that's just the first step of the puzzle.

In fact, we raise our puppies using the "Puppy culture" technique and work diligently to introduce our puppies to novel items, sights, sounds, smells, and experiences every single day they're with us. We focus on developmentally appropriate neural stimulation and training. We start the potty training process at 3-4 weeks old, and introduce puppies to crates at around 6 weeks old, giving our puppies a great head start to adjusting to their new homes once they leave us.
